Baltic Sirens

North Devon. It might well be geographically remote. But it has a thriving, if insular, music scene. It’s this scene that formed Baltic Sirens, whose four members each previously belonged to different bands in the area.

They have just released their debut EP, When Colours Fade. It was written in their rehearsal space: a freezing cold converted studio above an old dairy in the middle of nowhere in Devon; the only landmarks are fields and sky, the nights are pin-drop silent and the stars are dazzlingly bright.

It’s a sparse landscape that’s inextricably connected to Baltic Sirens’ sound. You can hear it in every cutting riff from the cold, delay-heavy guitars; you can hear it in the simple, sparse beauty that defines When Colours Fade; and you can hear it in the haunting, dramatic emptiness of Talion.

The band have already enjoyed support slots with the likes of The Kabeedies and have received interest from a record label in Germany.
