Calm Like a Riot

Calm Like a Riot have been shouting about stuff for a while. They position themselves firmly between angry young men and grumpy old ones. It all began in a pub in Worcester were Danny B the guitarist mentioned that his band was splitting up to the self confessed musically talentless lyricist Johnny. The drunker they got the better the idea of starting a band became, that was until Johnny repeatedly turned up at Danny’s house week on week trying to get him to put music to some rhymes he had written. In desperation Danny called on the support of his brother Pedro a bass player by trade to try and appease the angst riddled rapper at his door step. With the return of Mick (little voice) Smith (drums) from a stint in the colonies the line up was complete. After about 2 years of understanding what each member wanted out of the band and writing 8 song (yeah only 8 its quality not quantity you know!) CLAR were let loose on Worcester at a Hip-Hop night. A band at a Hip-Hop night this will never work. But it did and it kept working angry lyrics and an increasingly heavy back line setting the scene for Johnny the front man to jump shout and encourage the crowd to do the same.
