About Claire Boswell
Claire Boswell is a singer/ songwriter/ performer from Worcester, England.
Her distinctive and timeless sound evokes the aura of the Woodstock generation, mixing up what she describes as a 'mish-mash of Folk Rock, Country, Blues and Jazz' with her grade A songwriting skills, mellifluous vocals with subtle technical expertise reminiscent of Joni Mitchell, Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris, plus proficient guitar playing to boot.
Drawing from a diverse range of influences including The Rolling Stones, Clannad, John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, Chicken Shack, Dusty Springfield, Tony Joe White, Gram Parsons, Patsy Cline and a lot of other pre-mainstream and alternative Country artists, She began songwriting at the tender age of eleven. Discovering the Folk Rock scene of Crosby, Stills and Nash, America, Joni Mitchell, Carole King and Neil Young, she felt something was lacking and by thirteen had taught herself to play guitar.
After leaving High School she studied Music in college and began fine tuning her performance skills at open mic sessions across Worcestershire, gaining a good reputation as a solo performer and resulting in gigs, festivals and various radio performances across the country. She has also worked with other musicians including Prog- Rockers Da Vinci, for their Rock Opera: Razor Blade World which aired in August 2009 at Worcester's Huntington Hall.
Claire has a keen enthusiasm in music production and 2010 sees her venturing forward in recording her first album which she hopes to release at the end of the year.
