Ed Whitehead

Having played music since the age of 5, Ed Whitehead has since participated in many live and studio projects, placing him among some of the upcoming musicians of his generation. Ed made his acoustic debut on the ukulele as a singer/songwriter, appearing at the Re:gener8 festival in Canterbury in 2007. Since then he has appeared in various festivals and venues throughout the local scene, including Ashford Festival in the Park, the Foundry, and Liquid and Envy Club among others.

In 2008, Ed released his debut instrumental album, "Ground Zero" through his own label, using the distributor CD Baby. "I highly recommend his music" and "Ed is an absolute legend" were among reviews from iTunes users.

Ed has played bass and keys in various jazz outfits at functions and parties. He currently plays bass in a function group called "Suave", and has recently completed a series of Simon & Garfunkel tribute concerts, in which he played bass (electric and upright) and sang backing vocals. He is the leader of a group called "Modern Jazz", in which he has played keys for the past 3 years but has recently switched to bass in a re-shuffling.

Currently Ed is working on new material as a singer and ukulele player in the newly formed band "Pacific".
