Hotwyred

The Hotwyred name was originally thought of by guitarist Bill Dodwell long before the American TV show of the same name. The original Hotwyred played venues around the Wyre Forest area in the early 1990's but eventually split when the vocalists left the area. Sadly the original rhythm guitarist Ian (Doc) Holliday passed away last year. Bill and the other members went on to play in other bands but in 2008 Bill decided to form a new rock covers band and resurrected the Hotwyred name. This band had some success on the local gigging scene and won the Wyvern FM Battle of the Bands covers band category with their recording of Route 66. The prize for this was to open the Back to the 80's Party on the Pitch at Sixways, which featured Human League, Heaven 17, Belinda Carlisle, T'Pau and Bananarama (lovely ladies!). In 2010 Bill became ill and had to give up the band but he is now back with a new 4-piece lineup including the very experienced singer Sean Sandiland. The band play a high-energy set of rock 'n roll & rock covers and are sounding great.
