Jerry Chester

I am old enough to have been in a prog rock band, where no songs could last less than 20 minutes, and had to have eight key changes and be in 7/8 time. Then, one life changing day, the dummer of the band I was in turned up with an LP (it was that long ago) that he said would change out life for ever - he was right, it was the first Damned LP. Off came the long hair, and in came songs lasting three minutes...tops. Since then I've played in lots of bands, mainly in the West County, before morphing into a singer/songwriter. When I'm lucky I also have an electric fiddle player and a brilliant clarinetist playing along. I love Steve Earle, Nick Drake, Peter Gabriel and Carol King, but so far, they haven't returned the compliment.
