Sam Eden

Sam Eden combines powerful vocals and engaging lyrics, with intricate piano melodies and delicate guitar styles. If you want to put Sam in a genre, then conjure one up between folk, rock, pop and ballad. With a voice that floats softly in the mountain tops, and swoops down in to full power grit, it never gets old. The guitar is a part of him, moulding soft clay notes in his hands. The piano, his dessert island, forming gentle ripples of resonance on sandy shores.

Sam’s influences stretch far and wide, with life itself most prominent and a whole spectrum of music including Modern Artists (Damien Rice, David Grey, The Cranberries), Songwriter Legends (Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan), Modern Classical (Ludovico Einaudie, Mike Oldfield), Film Score (Hans Zimmer) and Contemporary Classical (Beethoven, Chopin, Handel).

Sam has played about a thousand shows across the midlands and Wales including some renowned venues such as The Point (Cardiff), Malvern Forum Theatre, Cox’s Yard (Stratford), The Marrs Bar (Worcester) and Worcester Huntingdon Hall where he supported Martin Turner’s Wishbone Ash. Sam’s also played his fair share of festivals including the Big Chill, Birmingham Arts Fest, Worcester Music Fest and Malvern May Day Fest where he headlined with his previous band. Sam was selected for the Big Chill by BBC introducing after listening to his debut album ‘Kill the lights’.

The album was recorded, mixed and produced entirely by Sam and took fifteen months to complete. It features twelve tracks and draws on all Sam’s musical styles blending folk, rock, pop and ballad with orchestral accompaniments.

Sam has enjoyed some decent media coverage including airplay on BBC Introducing (The Friday Session), Radio Port Douglas (Australia), BRFM (Wales), Worcester Choice Radio, Worcester Youthcom Radio and Tudno Radio (Wales) who played Sam as unsigned artist of the week. Sam has also had special features in local papers and music magazines (Slap). In 2009 BBC Friday Session voted Sam’s ‘Place I Know’ in to the top 10 tracks from Hereford and Worcestershire.

Sam continues his musical journey with indestructible passion, jumping on any new opportunity that comes along. He already has the tracks lined up for a second album…….
