The Organic Lawn Management

The band were formed in May 2009, during which time all four members were attending Worcester Sixth Form College. The band originally started as trio, when Wes, Luke and Matt attended a jamming session in a half-converted barn. Deeming the session a success, they then drafted in college friend Josh on bass and became The Organic Lawn Management.

After a short break from May to mid-June, during which time the four members completed their A-levels, the band set to work on writing material. The unreleased Summer EP was written before the band turned their attention to writing material for an album. Over the Summer of 2009 they wrote and recorded their debut album Capacity for Conversation which they released in September in limited numbers. Despite its limited availability, the album attained generally favourable reviews and was described as "A great record that is bursting with folky vibe."

The band then went on hiatus for the next few months whilst the band members attended their respective university courses. Over the Christmas season, the band reconvened to record the fan-nicknamed The Barn Tapes, a collection of live tracks with a track-listing that is largely unknown. OLM were then shortlisted for the Green Man Festival in May 2010, but did not progress beyond the first round.

After a return to university, the band began work on their second album during the Summer of 2010. Unlike Capacity for Conversation where the song writing was spread evenly throughout the group, Elephants on the Streets of Munich, 1932 was written and composed almost entirely by Wes Dean and Matt Stuttard (as well as the addition of two cover songs). It was completed and released on a greater scale in September 2010 and garnered generally positive reviews.

OLM are currently writing material for a third album to co-incide with the band's yearly album release.
