The Rusty Knives

About The Rusty Knives

The Rusty Knives are on a mission to prove to nothing to anyone. Using the sheer power of dumb ass brute force and simplicity, a sophisticated blend of influences is ignored and abused underneath a fearsome racket.

Formed on a whim by drummer Abi Brookes and guitar player Al Terry, the Rusty Knives began life in 2009 as a velvet underground style jam band. The original line-up was completed by bass player Greg Guest and later on Vocalist/Rhythm guitarist Gary Isles.

After just two gigs the Rusty Knives formally split citing musical differances, however refusing to let a good idea die the project was ressurected as a power trio now including bass player Elly Palmer.
The group debuted with thier new line up and a short set of origional songs at The Brewey Tap gay bar in Lowesmoore, Worcester.

The Rusty Knives sound like the death throes of rock n roll, giving a last dying gasp to breath in some fresh air. Their personal influences include; The Pixes, Led Zepplin, Black Flag, Sound Garden, Iggy and the Stooges, Sonic Youth, Fugazi, Beat Happening, The Velvet Underground, Mudhoney, Love Battery and Nirvana. Other influences include rock star death, delirium, instability, psychosis and the life of a no good bum.
