Phil Beer is the multi-instrumental half of the award winning acoustic duo, Show of Hands. He has played music all of his life and been a professional musician since 1975. In that 36 years, he has played in many bands and lost count of the number of record projects he has been involved in. The most notable sessions in his career range from the Rolling Stones album Steel Wheels and Mike Oldfeld’s live Album Exposed, to albums by The Albion Band with whom he toured for the best part of the ’80s, not forgetting the large catalogue of Show of Hands albums. His most recent accolade is the Spiral Earth Award for Best Musician, 2011. A Phil Beer performance is fun, eccentric, and informative - Phil could coax a beautiful tune from a length of clothesline! His gigs really do have something for everyone; trad tunes mixed with covers of Springsteen, The Hollies, his own compositions and songs from his contemporaries. A treat of past and current favourites from one of the most popular musicians on the acoustic circuit.
How Sweet It Is - Motown's Greatest Hits

Our 10th Anniversary Special will have you Dancing On The Ceiling, featuring songs from legendary artistes such as Lionel Richie, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, The Four Tops, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, The Jackson Five, The Isley Brothers, Edwin Starr and many, many more. Let’s Get Ready.... to Go Loco... Down in Acapulco. The UK’s Number 1 Motown production is guaranteed to have you dancing All Night Long!

Liane Carroll has been hailed by critics and fans alike as one of our very finest jazz singerHaving picked up just about every British jazz award going in the last few years, including the 2008 Parliamentary Jazz Award for Musician Of The Year, s. She has worked with an extensive roster of international artists, such as Gerry Rafferty, Gerry Donahue, Long John Baldry, and Sir Paul McCartney, as well as the fast soul outfit London Elektricity. Before love destroys him. Again Does Richard’s dry-cleaner genuinely love him? How could a romantic gesture involving Ferrero Rochers get dangerously out of control? Herring’s twentieth Fringe.

The guys in this band are veterans of the great summer festivals scene and can recreate those same sights and sounds at Drummonds for one night only!
They cover all the great bands that have performed at the big summer festivals over almost 20 years or so. This ranges from James, Happy Mondays & Stone Roses, through the Brit Pop of Oasis, Blur, Pulp etc, and later on Travis and Coldplay; then bang up to date with Snow Patrol, Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs and Killers etc. resulting in a set full of hits, albeit with a theme and a feel good factor.

Blind River Scare solo acoustic - www.great-malvern-hotel.co.uk
probably one of the best covers bands around Worcester, guaranteed to create a party atmosphere within minutes of taking to the stage. Songs that we all know and love, Beatles, Stones, Kinks, Weller, even the Dutch legends Golden Earring get a look in - but the main thing you'll take away is memories of an absolutely storming night.

Every Wednesday is Jamming Night at The Marrs Bar. We have a full range of instruments set up for you to play so if you are a guitarist, bass player, keyboard player, singer or drummer you can just turn up and play. You are welcome to bring your own instrument along too if you'd prefer. There is also a DI box set up for the unexpected double bass or an acoustic guitar or whatever.
The Marrs Bar is essentially an over 18's venue but as we understand there are many very talented youngsters out there who would also enjoy and benefit from the experience of performing in front of a live crowd we have a junior membership scheme in place, junior membership costs £5 and you will need to bring a passport size photo and get a parent or guardian to fill in this form. Simply bring it along on the night (you will be allowed in on that night) and next time you come your membership card will be ready for collection from the doorman.
